Description
Broadside announcement from the Viceroy of New Spain overruling a law that had been written in 1754 which allowed for tax exemptions for items imported into Mexico under the labels of "gifts" or "domestic consumption". Issued in Mexico by Bucareli, Oct. 14, 1776; republished by order of Paez de la Cadena, Sept. 1, 1777. Includes text of royal order dated at San Ildefonso July 25, 1776.
