Description
Additional poster text: Dem Leben zuliebe. Part of the public AIDS campaign in Germany: Gib AIDS keine Chance [Don't give AIDS a chance]. Depicts a young woman on the telephone, one hand caressing the phone cord. She is wearing a cocktail dress and has a string of pearls around her neck. The poster text "eine Feste Verbindung" is being used in reference to a clear telephone connection, which relates directly to the poster's graphic. The phrase can also be interpreted as "a permanent connection," as in a permanent relationship with another person. The poster is then suggesting that not all relationships are free of "static" or are permanent, indicating that no one should be taking chances with a sexual partner. Protection should always be used. Poster held by Louise M. Darling Biomedical Library. History & Special Collections, Collection no. 306, item GW126.
