Description
Poster is copyright 2004 Cabra Diseño and San Francisco AIDS Foundation. www.cabradiseno.com A poster with two black-and-white photos placed side-by side, showing the upper bodies of two men, one behind the other, both facing to the left of the scene. The man on the left is light complected, with short dark hair, mustache and beard, and his eyes are closed. The second man is posed behind the first; he has dark skin and his eyes are also closed. The positions suggest that they have just had anal intercourse. Each man is making an assumption about the other and whether each is HIV-positive or negative. Poster text suggests the importance of being informed about HIV to prevent contracting it. Poster held by Louise M. Darling Biomedical Library. History & Special Collections, Collection no. 306, item CN076. Based on the San Francisco "Assumptions" campaign, the slogan reads, "Comment fais-tu pour savoir?" English version is: "How do you know what you know?" www.penses-y.ca Other people involved in poster creation: Raúl Cabra, Andy Williams, Wesley Ito, Liz Craig and Jillian Moffett.
