Description
Text from nitrate negative sleeve: 2151 2151 1/2 Pls ret negs. 100 inch telescope on Mt Wilson. Photo by Adelbert Bartlett, 535 15th Street, Santa Monica, Calif. View showing the observatory which houses 100 inch telescope. 4. 210R1694
Text reads: View showing the observatory which houses the 100-inch telescope at the Carnegie Institute on the summit of Mt. Wilson, 6000 ft, in Southern California. The Institute is planning to erect a 200-inch scope, to be the world's largest, in Southern California or somewhere in the Southwest. Mt. Wilson has been suggested as a likely place for this new instrument on account of the good visibility to be had practically every night of the year.
