Similar photograph appears with the article, "Hiccoughs 'Cure' Told," Los Angeles Times, 03 May 1935: A1. To abate her attacks of the hiccoughs Lucille has been avoiding eating meat, onions and oranges and since the start of this diet she has been able to resume her household duties without any attacks. Multiple people have written to her suggesting cures such as sticking pins in her body to drinking sweetened vinegar and ether. Lucille sits at a table covered with letters, envelopes and newspaper clippings. She holds one of the letters in front of her with a smile.
