Photograph of Jesse Brown holding a stick with 5 trout dangling off of it near Gull and June Lakes. He stands at center and looks downward towards the fish he holds. The fish are skewered onto a stick that Jesse holds low in front of him with both hands. A grassy landscape expands into low hills behind him.
Text from negative sleeve: 562. Convict Lake - Gull Lake, about 1920. The little stream between Gull and June lakes could be hopped across. Full of big 4 and 5 lb trout coming up to spawn. Would not take baits. We made spears of pine branches and speared them in the bends of the creek along the bank. Brown trying to spear a trout under the bank. 2 pictures of Brown with the trout we were catching. About 25 lbs of trout. 3 negatives
