Photograph of the wilderness surrounding the West, Whitaker and Shaw campsite near Rock Creek and Toms Place. Their camp is set up in the distance, left-of-center, under a large, leaning pine tree. The group's canopy can be seen standing under a pine tree to the left of it. The pine tree rises from the ground at left and angles upward towards the right. A car is parked nearer to camera on the right. It is viewed from the side and the rear; it faces towards the campsite at left. Low brush sprawls across the ground in the foreground. A few tall pine trees stand among shorter trees in the background.
