Photograph of Mertie West fixing her hair while standing in the group's campsite near Rock Creek. Mertie stands right-of-center, in profile, and facing to the left. She looks towards a small mirror to the left that is propped up on sticks. A hat hangs above the mirror. Clothes and rags hang from rungs made of sticks to the left of the mirror. Behind Mertie, the campsite is strewn with dining utensils and food supplies either sitting atop crates or resting on tables. A canopy hangs over a portion of the campsite at far right. A large rocks sits in the foreground in the lower left corner.
