An out-of-focus photograph of H. H. West standing in the near distance under the camp canopy and looking at his waterwheel lying on the ground. H. H. West stands at center, in profile, facing to the right. He bows his head slightly downward to look at his waterwheel which appears to lie broken among rocks on the ground at right. A canopy stretches across the top of the image and hovers over him. A table stands in the foreground at left. A chair sits on the far side of the table and chair sits to the right. Behind and to the left of H. H., a pipe runs behind the camp at left. Rocks covering the ground extend into the distance at right and trees line the background. A white streak cuts across the image on an angle downwards from the mid-left to the lower right corner.
