Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Photograph of Dave F. Smith fixing a loose wire under the hood of his EMF while passing through Willow Springs. Dave F. Smiths stands with his back to the camera in the near distance at center. His car is parked off to the side of a dirt road. The car is viewed at an angle from the side and the front; it faces left. Dave faces his car and reaches under the open hood of the EMF to repair it. A dirt road spans across the foreground at an upward angle from left to right. In the foreground at left, the back end of another vehicle (probably H. H. West's Buick) juts into frame. It is viewed from the side. Ground brush and trees dot the background and silhouetted mountains rise in the far distance. Text from negative sleeve: 1131. Smith West tour 1913. Willow Springs, Calif. Dave F.Smith's EMF stopped on him. He got out and went under the hood and found a loose wire to the coil box on the dash. Fixed in a couple minutes. Last photo taken on trip. "30" 1 film
