There are arched beams on the ceiling and skylights. There are windows at the right both by the ceiling and just above the pool. Plants hang from the ceiling. A person's arm is visible at the left in the foreground. The words, "no smoking" are printed on the wall at the right." People stand by the pool at the right in front of benches. Text from negative sleeve: 1230. Santa Monica, Calif. About 1895. The beach and camera obscura in front of the North Beach bath house. 1. John Duvall in bathing suit, facing camera. The girl on walk with back to camera is May Hasse [sic], who he afterward married. They live on Lincoln Park Ave, Lincoln Heights in 1942 and the papers say John is on the Federal Grand Jury. 2. 3.
