Mary stands, bent over, at center as she cooks up pancakes. She looks down and faces towards the left. The camp stove sits on the ground in front of her. A pan with 2 cooking pancakes sits atop the stove. Mary appears to reach towards a crate that sits on the ground behind and to the left of the stove. Pots sit atop the crate. In the foreground at right, 2 round trays sit on a bench or low table. Two rolled forms of dough sit in one of the trays. A tree stands behind Mary along the right edge of the image. Rocks sit beneath it and atop the rocks sit a couple of pots. Behind Mary and the stove, a pathway cuts between large rocks lining it. It slopes upwards towards tall grasses that stand in the background. Text from negative sleeve: 1263. Thompsons, on Owens River, about 1915.
