Text from negative sleeve: 1365. Iowa State picnic, Lincoln Park, Los Angeles, Feb. 24, 1940. 1. L to R: Mr Kelly. Charles Wheeler. Wheeler told me that he lived across the creek from Hank Palmer, who was Sheriff, and lived at the jail on the creek. Said the worst fight he saw when a boy in Red Oak, Iowa, was between Elmer Sumpter and H. H. West. 2. Iowa State picnic headquarters. 3. Montgomery County headquarters.
