Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Photograph of about 4 houses standing along Avenue 24 (formerly North Hellman Street). They are viewed at a slight distance from a neighboring yard. A lawn sits in the foreground and stretches on an upward angle from right to left. A large palm tree stands along the left frame. Avenue 24 stretches through the mid-ground, running parallel to the lawn. On the far side of Avenue 24, about 4 homes line the street. The rightmost house is nearest to camera and the leftmost house is furthest. All are obscured by trees and shrubbery in their front lawns. Four large palm trees stand in a row at center in front of some of the homes. Text from negative sleeve: 1688. Los Angeles, California. North Hellman street, East Los Angeles. Now Avenue 24.
