Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Wilson D. West was H. H. West's brother. Arleigh Lemberger stands next to Wilson West, who sits on the West's front porch. Lemberger has his hands in his pockets. There is a dog on the lawn behind him. West looks toward Lemberger. There are trees, plants, and houses in the background. Text from negative sleeve: 1767. Los Angeles, California. 240 South Griffin Ave., about 1899. 1. Left to right: On our front porch. Mrs George M. West. Vicente Sepulveda. Do not think Vicente's last name was Sepulveda. She was their hired girl, and looked like she had Indian blood. She was a good cook, and used to come over and get us up a real Spanish dinner. Bring tears to our eyes. 2. Arleigh Lemberger, our cousin - son of mother's brother Frank Lemberger. On our front lawn. Wilson West is sitting on post at right. 3. Louise Ambrose on our front lawn. Looking north up Griffin Ave. 3 films.
