H. H. West's wife, Mary, sits on the front steps of a house with their daughters, Elizabeth and Frances, as well as another girl. Frances is in a stroller and holds her hand up to her mouth. Mrs. West holds her hands together in her lap. The unknown girl wears a hat. There are books sitting on the porch railing, and there is a chair on the porch.
