Mary West kneels in the sand while Elizabeth and Frances West sit next to her and Maude Hamilton reclines in between. Mary has her hands behind her back. Elizabeth looks off to the left and Frances has a feather in her hair. There are cottages in the background and utility poles with wires throughout.
Mary A. West (Mary Adelbert Teel West Shepard) was H. H. West's first wife and the mother of Elizabeth and Frances. Maude Hamilton went on to marry H. H. West's brother, Guy West.
Based on the ages of Frances West and Elizabeth West in this image, the date has been estimated as about 1908, rather than about 1910.
