Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. A poorly lit photograph of H. H. West standing in front of a car outside the Southern Pacific Railroad depot in San Luis Obispo. H. H. West stands, left-of-center, and looks to the camera as he rests a hand to his hip. To the left of him, piles of lumber sit on the ground. A car is parked behind and to the right of him, extending back towards the center of the image. It looks to be H. H. West's Buick. It is viewed at an angle from the front and faces towards the right. Parked to the right of the car is a military truck. It is oriented in the same way as the Buick, but it's front end extends beyond the right frame. Behind H. H. and the vehicles, the train depot stretches across the background. Text from negative sleeve: 2010. H.H.West, Jr. films sent from Dutch Harbor June 1943.
