A gravel and dirt drive stretches through the image on an upward angle from the lower left corner and up to the right. The men stand in a row at center and all look to camera, except for Harold Brown at center who looks down at a small book he holds open in his hands. Standing second-from-left, H. H. West, Jr. wraps an arm over the shoulder of Charles Glenn, who is leftmost. Both men smoke pipes while standing in front of the doorway of the barracks. Behind the group stands a canvas and wood slat constructed barracks. Pipes lie on the ground behind David Sparks and Harold Brown. A second, identical barracks stands in the background at right, behind Herman Schultz. Text from negative sleeve: 2012. H.H.West, Jr. films sent down from Dutch Harbor June 1943.
