Photograph of 2 fellow servicemen of H. H. West, Jr.'s walking along a wood slat walkway through camp at Fort Mears. The walkway stretches on an upward angle from the lower right corner and up to the left where it cuts off near the middle of the image. Two servicemen walk along the walkway in the near distance at center, one behind the other. Both face towards the camera as they travel towards the right. The man up front wears a jumpsuit and the man behind him looks to the camera. A large patch of snow covers the ground behind and to the right of them. A barren hillside rises behind them. Atop the small hill, a Quonset hut stands in profile, left-of-center. Beyond the Quonset hut, a mountain covered in patches of snow stands in the distance at right.
