Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Photograph of the front exterior of H. H. West, Jr.'s quarters at Fort Mears, viewed straight on and looking into the interior. The Quonset hut is viewed close-up from the front. The Dutch door to the barracks stands open at center and extends vertically beyond the top and bottom edges of the image. The lower half of the door is swung open towards the camera. To the right of the door frame, "K-5," is written on the exterior wall. The interior of the barracks is mostly in shadow. Beds stand in rows that line the left and right sides of the interior. Overhead lights are visible on the ceiling and a man stands silhouetted in front of a window at the opposite end of the barracks. Text from negative sleeve: 2025.
