An out-of-focus photograph of Mertie West standing in the road that leads to the airport near Circle Hot Springs. The road spans the width of the image in the foreground and narrows as it recedes into the distance. Birch trees line both sides of the road. Mertie West stands in the near distance in the road. She stands closer to the right side of the road and looks to the camera. The road undulates over hills as it stretches towards mountains that stand in the far distance.
