Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Photograph of men fishing off the side of a pier at Orca, Alaska, near Cordova. The pier extends from the bottom edge on an upward angle from left to right, curving slightly left as it approaches the distance. Two men stand behind the rail lining the left edge of the pier. Both face left. The man nearest to camera holds a fishing rod over the side of the pier. To the right of them and further down the pier, 2 women stand and converse with one another. The woman at left holds an infant and faces right. The woman at right faces left. At the end of the dock, the Aleutian is moored. The ship is viewed from the side and extends beyond the left and right edges of the image. "ALEUTI[A]N," is marked on the side of the ship. Text from negative sleeve: 2182.
