A few ship cabins are viewed at an angle from the front (or bow), looking abaft. They sit off-center to the left. The cabins stand 3 decks tall. Portholes line the lowest deck. A rail lines the promenade that passes across the front of the second deck (observation lounge). The observation lounge is lined by windows and sits recessed between a lower and upper deck. The upper deck contains a cabin at center that is lined by portholes. Observation areas extend to the right and left of the upper cabin. In the background, a portion of a funnel is visible billowing dark smoke. Text from negative sleeve: 2195. Alaska Trip. Aug.5, 1946 En route 1. Fire drill H.H.West in Life Presvr [sic] 2.
