Photograph of Canal Street in New Orleans, as viewed from the west and looking east. Canal Street spans the width of the bottom edge and stretches on an angle back to the right. A car in the road sits in the foreground at right; it is viewed at an angle from the rear. To left of the car, a median stretches through the middle of the street. Buildings line the far (or left) side of Canal Street. The leftmost building is the Maison Blanche department store. It enters frame from left and extends beyond the top frame. A cross street separates it from the rest of the buildings that are visible lining Canal Street. Signage on the buildings reads, from front to back, "Chandler's Shops," "LERNER SHOPS," and "HOLMES." A billboard atop the building second from left reads, " They cant live on less! [...]ve more give NOW! [...] COMMUNITY CHEST." Pedestrians are visible walking in front of the shops at left and on the median at center. Cable car lines hang overhead. Four punched holes dot the top edge at left.
According to the negative sleeve, this set of photographs is captured in color. The scans of these images are in black and white.
