Photograph of H. H. West standing beside the Frog Pond at Boston Common. A park lawn stretches across the bottom edge and back on an angle to the left. A brick-paved walkway runs alongside it to the right. On the other side of the walkway, the Frog Pond enters frame from the right and stretches back towards center. H. H. West stands at center, along the left edge of the man-made pond. He looks to the camera. The wide walkway appears to extend around the perimeter of the pond. Along the left edge of the walkway, park visitors sit on benches that line the walkway and overlook the pond. Trees stand around the pond as it stretches into the distance.
