Description

A poorly-lit photograph of the Holy Name Society convention's parade marching along a Boston street, as viewed from the West's hotel. The parade is viewed from an elevated perspective. A portion of Columbus Avenue stretches across the bottom right corner. Beyond it, parade participants march towards the right, in formation, along Stuart Street. The street passes through the image on a slight upward angle from left to right. Large crowds of spectators line both sides of the street. At far right, Stuart Street and Columbus Avenue converge to intersect Arlington Street. Arlington Street stretches back at right alongside the Boston Consolidated Gas Company building. The Boston Consolidated Gas Company building stands across the background at left and center. Two-story, ground-level arched windows line the side of the building facing camera. A reflected patch of bright light hovers near the top edge at center. According to a previous negative sleeve (#2350), the West's viewed the Holy Name parade from their hotel window at the "Statler," now Boston Park Plaza.
