Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Photograph of Mertie West standing on a street corner across the street from Harvard Yard. A brick-paved sidewalk spans the width of the bottom edge, curving across the lower left corner. Mertie West stands at center, just at the back edge of the sidewalk; she looks to camera. Behind and to the left of her, a woman beside the left edge steps onto the sidewalk. In the near distance, Massachusetts Avenue stretches across the image. Several cars drive along it. Harvard Yard stretches along the far side of Massachusetts Avenue. Massachusetts Hall stands at center, behind Mertie. The Georgian-style building is viewed at a slight angle from its short side. Beside it, Straus Hall enters frame from the right. Straus Hall is viewed from its long side. Both buildings are draped in ivy.
