An empty church pew stretches across the foreground, entering frame from the right. Another pew stretches behind it. In the third pew back from camera, Mertie West sits at center and looks to camera. Behind her, more pews extend horizontally across the image and sit in a line stretching towards the back of the church. Three Doric order columns line the aisle-side of the pews at left.
