Photograph of H. H. West's beach cottage at the corner of Island Avenue and Speedway in Venice, as viewed from the side. Chaparral covers the sand that stretches across the foreground. A picket fence lines it in the near distance. Beyond the fence, a sandy side yard sits in front of H. H. West's cottage. The cottage stands at center and is viewed from the side, facing left. A chimney rises from the side of the house, towards the left. Two small windows flank it. Six more windows line the side of the bungalow. A neighboring house stands behind it at right. Opaque, white patches occupy the lower left and lower right corners.
