Description
Scope/Content: An oral history with Louis Harris, who was born in 1972 in Jamaica, Queens. He is an ocean and skateboard surfing mentor in the Black Surfing Association in Rockaway. During his interview, he discusses his childhood memory of the ocean and the lack of availability of surfing to Black children. He also explains why he decided to work with the Black Surfing Association and teach ocean surfing.
