Description
Scope/Content: Album from a recreational trip through Mexico on horseback by a group of United States military officers and a Mexican guide. The group traveled from Fort Ringgold, Texas to Laredo and then to Mexico City. The photographs document the expedition as well as people, villages, schools, churches, ranches, shops, and other aspects of everyday life in Mexico. Contains 132 albumen prints, each measuring 4.5 x 7.5 inches and mounted on heavy album boards. Many photos are described in an inventory in the accompanying journal.
Condition: Album was professionally recased preserving the original morocco (goatskin) binding.
