Description
Scope/Content: Fliers, statements, letters, and other documents from the Committee for Open Housing, an activist organization advocating against racial discrimination and segregation in Riverside rental housing, particularly near the UCR campus. Fliers include use of racial slurs when quoting statements by discriminatory landlords. Includes information about picket at Sands and Sleepy Lagoon Apartments, and ASUCR Legislative Council resolution on housing discrimination. The "Lowlander" parody newspaper (pages 18-19) is a response to a Highlander editorial critical of the Committee ("Protest Group Nullifies Existence," October 26, 1966).
