Description
Joe and Dollie Baum inside their 5 and Dime at 149 Throckmorton Avenue. The Baums are shown standing in the store behind a lage table full of jars and packages. Mr. and Mrs. Baum opened the store in March 1938 and operated it for 18 years until 1953. The building was owned by Mr. Emil Pohli from about 1940 on until the business was sold to Village Variety. In 1995, it became Red Herring Furnishing and later, Living Foods.
