Description
Tom Scales in baseball uniform. Played for the Hobsons team - a county league. He was an outfielder covering leftfield. The photograph was featured in a newspaper article titled, "Hobson and Carmen Teams to Meet in Return Game Today" with the caption "Outfielder Scales of the W. B. Hobson team." "This afternoon at the Grant School diamond at Tenth and Empire streets, the Hobson team, leaders of the County league, will meet the Carmen's team, and a good game is promised, as the boys who look after the 'jitneys' and 'transfers' for Manager Chapin are going to try and grab a victory today, as the Clothiers have handed them defeat in the last five games...."
