Photograph caption dated March 7, 1958 reads, "Mary Coppage, 5, as Little Miss Sprout, assisted in tree planting ceremonies at the San Fernando Valley Association School for Retarded Children. Participating in the Arbor Day ceremonies, left to right, were Lyle Hughes, association president, and Mmes. V.T. Gilchrist, board president; John P. Delany, California Garden Clubs district director, and Mrs. Robert J. Kadow, Laurel Garden Club president."
