View of the Children's Room of the Los Angeles Public Library in the Homer Laughlin Building. It shows a typical afternoon where children are sitting at tables, reading; a Children's Librarian sits at her desk and is visible behind a young girl on the left. The large room has several support columns running down the middle, and exposed support beams with fire sprinklers on each beam; hanging lamps illuminate the room. Numerous shelving units are visible along the right and toward the rear of the room. The Library was housed at the Laughlin Building from 1906-1908.
