Photograph caption dated August 5, 1961 reads, "No coonskin cap in the closet - Daniel Boone, Woodland Hills, is descendant of famed hunter." Boone is an airline pilot who has been honored with the Daedalians Safety Flight Award and his airline's Distinguished Service Award for Valor for his calm response in emergency situations.
