Original photograph has several light colored stains. The name of the library was changed from North Hollywood Sidney Lanier Regional Branch to North Hollywood Amelia M. Earhart Regional Branch in 1980. Photograph caption dated June 27, 1960 reads "Librarian Marion Duane launches first summer weekly Story Hour at North Hollywood Library by reading 'Sebastian and the Dragon' to group of vacationing youngsters. Schedules of Story Hours, which will be held at most Valley branch libraries, may be obtained by calling local library."
