The huge cross on the Lutheran Church, stays in the air despite eforts of the wrecking crew to pull down the 145-foot tall structure. The steeple was pulled down from its position outlined at left, but if fell against the nearby steeple (arrow) instead of on the ground and the cross is still up there. Photo dated: July 20, 1959.
