Description
In this photo, possibly taken on May 20, 2005, Mayor elect Villaraigosa is seen standing out on the field with his baseball glove on his left hand, wearing a Dodgers baseball jersey number "05". He is ready to throw the ceremonial pitch for an unidentified game at Dodger Stadium. But looking closely, one can see that although he is about to pitch, he is not standing on the pitchers' mound. Antonio Villaraigosa (born Antonio Ramon Villar, Jr. on January 23, 1953) is the 41st Mayor of Los Angeles. He was elected on May 17, 2005, had his inaugural gala at the Los Angeles Music Center on June 30, 2005, and was officially sworn into office on July 1, 2005. Prior to being elected Mayor, Mr. Villaraigosa served as councilman for the 14th District. Photo dated: 2005.
