Description
A sepia photograph of Engine #2 "the Jackrabbit." The engineer in the cab is Charles Stocker. It was a 3 foot narrow guage of the North West Pacific Coast Railroad. It ran on Mill Valley branch until 1903 when the track was changed to standard gauge, 4 foot 81/2 inches and electric trains took over. Charles Stocket ran the first electric train into Mill Valley in 10903. In 1907 the Northwestern Pacific Railroad was formed and it included the North Pacific Coast Railroad. Below the photo is a banner saying "Some of the 'Old Timers.'"
