Photograph caption dated April 7, 1965 reads, "Dr. Vierling Kersey, former superintendent of Los Angeles City Schools and member of the Bill of Rights Commemoration Committee, sponsors of the annual College Bill of Rights Commemoration contest, presents $125 scholarship awards to Nancy Galvin, left, 8200 Owensmouth, Canoga Park, and Christine Barber, 8523 Amestoy Ave., Northridge. The young ladies, students at Pierce College, developed a broad college study program of the document."
