Photograph caption dated December 6, 1961 reads, "Rep. James C. Corman (left) talks with Dr. Swearingen and Dr. Bagby." The article partially reads, "Dr. Roger Swearingen, chosen to head a new USC research institute on Communist strategy, cautioned a Valley audience Tuesday night against emotionalism in opposing communism. Speaking before an audience of 600 at the Encino Community Center...Swearingen was one of three speakers at a 'Forum for Democracy,' sponsored by Rep. James C. Corman (D-22nd Dist.)...The other speaker was Methodist minister Dr. Grover Bagby."
