Photograph caption dated August 26, 1958 reads, "Well stocked Kern River yields numerous limits of seven to 11-inch trout to fishermen who cast into its frothy rushing waters. River originates from melting snows of Sierra Nevada Mountains. Pack stations are located at several points along river providing more rugged outdoorsmen with opportunity of fishing remote tributary streams."
