Description
Photograph of aerial view of flooded area of Arroyo Seco at Avenue 52, 1938. In the foreground at left, a large group of homes crowded on several blocks can be seen. To the right, additional buildings near large trees are visible. At center, a wide river is visible extending from left to right. The river separates a small group of homes alongside the base of the mountain from the other homes in the foreground. The large river has destroyed the road connecting the small group to the rest of the homes. A small section of the river can also be seen overflowing into the group of trees. In the background, a large mountain is visible. Photoprint reads: "This photograph is loaned to you. Please return to: Illustrator. L.A. City Planning Dept.
