Description
Seabiscuit held the western turf spotlight on August 12, 1938, in a $25,000 winner-take-all match race with Ligaroti, the fleet Argentine who runs with the speed of a prairie fire on the pampas. Seabiscuit was poised to go into fifth place among the big money winners of the turf with a total earning of $315,300, within shooting distance of Sun Beau's all-time record of $376,744. He is from the C. S. Howard stable.
