Description
Lee de Forest with President Gerardo Machado and other Cuban officials at the Hotel Plaza, Havana, Cuba. According to clippings, de Forest was visiting to "take scenes of Cuba to circulate throughout the U.S. as well as Cuba." He filmed President Machado and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes, secretary of state. According to one article, de Forest planned to use Havana as the center for producing phono-film.
