Description
There a number of modern industrial schools in which Korean youths are being trained. The exposition train goes from one end of Korea to the other. At various station stops, people come in large numbers from the surrounding territory. Schools attend and adjourn in a body. Unfortunately, great Western tobbacco firms were most alert to use this opportunity. On one of the cars can be seen the sign of the British and American Tobacco Company. About the time China started its war on opium, this company declared its purpose to put cigarettes in all Chinese mouths. In Korea, the advertising campaign reaped far less than the intended benefit, as tobacco is now a government monopoly throughout the Japanese empire.
