Description
This exterior view of the Greyhound Bus Depot at 715 L St. was captured from the southwest corner of the intersection of Seventh and L streets in circa 1955. Debuting in August 1937, the station was rebuilt at a cost of $225,000. Built of reinforced concrete and rendered with white-colored stucco, the structure offered some 22 service shops and 6,430 feet of floor space, while accommodating the daily receipt and departure of 60 buses. After the opening, it was predicted that up to 500,000 travelers would use the depot annually. In 2010, Greyhound moved to a $7 million facility at 420 Richards Blvd.
